If confirmed by President Trump, Marine Corps Colonel Lorna M. Mahlock will be the first black woman promoted to one of the highest military ranks in the world, that of a Brigadier General.
Once again President Trump does something the liberals always claim he is against… Diversity… This is not exactly someone a racist sexist would nominate for one of the highest-ranking military positions. This Marine has proven herself to be more than capable and our President has recognized that.
According to a press report concerning her nomination issued by the Department of Defense, Mahlock is currently serving as the deputy director of Operations, Plans, Policies, and Operations Directorate, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington, DC. Secretary of Defense James Mattis declared the historic nomination on Tuesday, March 10.
Mahlock is one of the mere eight percent of women who serve in the Marines, the smallest branch of our military. This comes after the unnamed woman who became the corps’ first infantry officer last year, only three years after the Pentagon officially created all combat roles for female soldiers. 2017 also saw the first female infantry marines, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
