On Tuesday, following the death former First Lady Barbara Bush, tenured Fresno State University professor Randa Jarrar tweeted: “Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal. F*** outta here with your nice words.” The lovely professor then bragged that she could not be fired.
California College Republicans (CCR) decided to host a memorial for Mrs. Bush on the Fresno campus, open to the public, as a way of responding to the horrible remarks of Fresno Professor who showed he’s overjoyed of her passing. The club sent a personal invitation to Jarrar in order to give him a little “education” on the former first lady’s legacy.
“I am shocked but not surprised that yet another professor at a California university has made egregious and inappropriate comments about a Republican,” CCR Chairwoman Ariana Rowlands said in a press release.
“These Leftist professors have no respect for the office- and they are preaching attitudes like those to our nation’s children. It is truly a shame when ideological differences trump common decency, but the California College Republicans will respond by holding a memorial that will be open to all for former First Lady Barbara Bush on the Fresno State campus. We invite Professor Jarrar to attend this memorial so she may educate herself on the truth surrounding Mrs. Bush’s extraordinary life and accomplishments,” she said.
“The California College Republicans are proud to stand up for the legacy of former First Lady Barbara Bush, and are committed to fighting the disrespect for conservative dignitaries that is a trend in leftist academic institutions,” said the press release. The club added that details surrounding the memorial will be announced shortly.
“We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Bush family during this period of mourning,” said the release.
The university has released a statement in which it said that Jarrar is currently on leave this semester and her words about Mrs. Bush were not officially stated.
